KEITH Hill admitted he was scared stiff of Blackpool, even with a man more.
Barnsley had an extra player for 70 minutes of the contest but Hill claimed he never felt comfortable due to the Seasiders’ attacking intent.
Hill’s anxiety was perhaps understandable given that his team had been on a dreadful run – eight defeats in their previous 10 outings – and needed a result to edge away from the drop zone.
The Barnsley boss said: “It’s essential that we stay in the Championship and results like this, regardless of the performance, give us a great chance of doing that.
“We didn’t play the type of football that I want to play. We had a lack of culture and a lack of composure at times.
“We got a goal but still left ourselves open to Blackpool’s attacking play. Even with 10 men Blackpool were still an incredible force and they have a massive attacking threat and impetus.”
