BLACKPOOL may have conceded more goals than any other Premier League club last season but Alex Baptiste singled out his fellow defenders for special praise.
The 25-year-old, who regained his place in the heart of defence for the closing stages of the campaign, backed Ian Evatt as player of the season and hailed Craig Cathcart’s debut season.
Baptiste said: “I think Craig was outstanding for his first year in the Premier League. He had a lot to prove but stepped up to the plate and has been unbelievable.
“Ian Evatt has been superb and the whole back four were fantastic.
“I know we conceded a lot of goals but I think everyone who came into the back four put in some great displays.
