Nile Ranger has been rewarded for going AWOL at Blackpool, by being handed a new contract.
Incredibly the Seasiders have activated an option in the striker’s deal which will keep him at Bloomfield Road for another year.
Ranger hasn’t been seen since failing to turn up for training at the start of December and recently accused Pool of ‘taking the Mick’ with his contract.
Then boss Lee Clark described the 24-year-old as ‘totally unprofessional’ and insisted Ranger is someone ‘I don’t want in and around my club at all.’
While Blackpool are yet to release their retained list and officially confirm Ranger’s contract extension, he turned to social media to reveal the news.
Ranger posted a picture on his Instagram account of an email from Pool secretary Chris Hough informing him on their decision, with his comment ‘REALLY?’ below.
