Blackpool have eased their defensive crisis by signing Will Aimson from Hull City.
The 21-year-old goes straight into the squad for tonight’s cup-tie at Wigan after agreeing a month’s loan.
Pool were short of options at centre-back, with Tom Aldred suspended and Lloyd Jones a long-term injury absentee, and after training with his new team-mates yesterday Aimson said he’s ready for action.
“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to get going,” he said. “Hopefully I can start off with a win tonight. I’m here to prove myself and get some results for the club.”
Aimson is still awaiting his Hull debut but he did make two Football League appearances 12 months ago during a loan spell at Tranmere, which was cut short by a double leg-break.
Now fully fit, he was watched by Pool boss Neil McDonald playing for Hull U21 and is expected to go straight into the side tonight.
Aimson added: “The lads have welcomed me well and made me feel great, and so has the manager.”
