Liverpool had three bids, the latest of £6.8million on Monday afternoon, rejected by Pool chairman Karl Oyston.
The 25-year-old spent all day at Bloomfield Road in his training kit as he awaited news on any move.
And despite media reports in the afternoon claiming a deal was close, Pool held strong.
