For good measure, Pool will also miss former loanees Joe Lumley, Viv Solomon-Otabor and Sean Longstaff.

Twelve new players have been brought in so far this summer in what has been another pre-season of huge change at Bloomfield Road.

Coupled with the ongoing issues off-the-pitch, Bowyer admits it’s been a difficult few months.

When asked it it’s been a frustrating summer, Bowyer said: “Yeah, definitely.

“Any manager will tell you the whole aim is to build and to keep making progress. From where we finished and how we finished, you look to build on that.

“There are certain clubs in this league you look at with a bit of envy, because they’ve just added three or four and that has a massive part to play.

“We’ve shown an awful lot of patience and support to the players we’ve brought in because it will take time to gel.

“But obviously we’re disappointed to have lost Colin Daniel, Clark Robertson and Kyle Vassell who all went out on frees. I understand all three of their moves.

“Then Kelvin Mellor then puts pen to paper at Bradford this week, which again is a disappointing one. But that’s football and it will always continue to happen.

“It’s always going to be difficult. any manager is going to want to constantly build and get better. These are the challenges that face us, but we will see what this season brings.”

Bowyer has also revealed that in-demand Blackpool defender Curtis Tilt has trained as normal this week despite reports the 26-year-old has handed in a transfer request.

The Pool boss is expecting the centre-back, who is the subject of interest from Championship side Ipswich Town, to feature at Wycombe on Saturday.
