Bantams boss says tie is close to call

Fleetwood finished fourth in Sky Bet League One with 82 points, three more than the fifth-placed Bantams, while both teams conceded just 43 goals.

The first leg takes place at Valley Parade on Thursday night, and McCall knows it will be tense.

He told Bantams PlayerHD: "We've both got, I think, the second best defensive record in the league - I think we've both conceded 43, under one goal a game.

"We played better at Fleetwood and got beat and they probably played better at our place and got beat.

"So it's two sides (who are) equally matched. They have got a lot of good individual talent and a good squad mentality and group, hence where they finished... and likewise where we have.

"Even though we'll be going for the win, we've got to make sure we're focused on our defensive duties as well. For us to have the second best defensive record with the way we play is quite incredible."

Striker Alex Jones is hoping to recover from a hamstring injury in time for the game.

It was initially feared Jones would be ruled out after sustaining the problem in Sunday's draw at Rochdale, but McCall will give the 15-goal forward every chance of proving his fitness.

Defender Matt Kilgallon (shoulder) and winger Alex Gilliead (hamstring) both returned to the starting line-up at the weekend and will be in contention.
