Alexander looking for strong heads on road

Alexander admits he may have to look again at his travelling squad.

He said:“I don’t know if it’s something we need to look at with personnel, who can play at home and who can play away.

“I don’t think it’s a problem we had at the start of the season.

“Of late we haven’t taken our opportunities.

“I can talk about tactics and everything else, but you have to score.”

Fleetwood, who scored three against leaders Bristol City couldn’t find the net despite solid openings for Josh Morris, Stephen Dobbie and Antoni Sarcevic.

And Alexander branded the winning goal ‘pathetic’, Stephen Jordan making a hash of a defensive header from a Peterborough goal kick.

The Fleetwood boss said: “I don’t want to repeat myself from other games ,but I’m going to have to.

“We should be leading by half time. We should be one or two up.

“The goal we’ve conceded is a pathetic goal really.

“We’re putting extra pressure on our team by not taking the opportunities we’re creating.

“We’ve got to take that on board because we’re playing decent football and creating chances. But I don’t want to be a nice team, I want to be a winning team.”

He insists Town should never have been in a position to take such a sucker punch.

“We can’t look at the goal against with any pride. It’s route one. It’s a goal kick straight down,” he said.

“But we’ve put ourselves in a precarious position.

“It’s not a game we should have lost but we have.

“And we have to make sure we turn these performances into wins.”
