AFC Fylde boss Jim Bentley successfully undergoes heart operation

AFC Fylde have confirmed that manager Jim Bentley has undergone successful surgery.

Bentley had a double heart bypass on Tuesday morning, after which he was transferred to an intensive care unit for further observation.

It is hoped he will be able to leave hospital soon and begin his recuperation.

“Jim has had all tubes removed and is currently recovering on the ward and making good progress. The doctors are optimistic that he will be discharged from hospital in the next few days.

“Everyone at AFC Fylde is delighted with the news and wishes him all the very best.”

Bentley had been due to have the operation at the start of November, only for it to be delayed as a result of Covid-19.
