AFC Blackpool to face new Bury club in North West Counties League next season

AFC Blackpool will play newly-formed Bury AFC in the North West Counties League next season.

Bury AFC is a fan-led club formed since the demise of League One Bury last year.

Bury had its 125-year membership of the Football League withdrawn last summer due to financial problems.

Bury AFC’s acceptance into the North West Counties League was confirmed by the FA yesterday and they will compete alongside AFC Blackpool in a 20-team First Division North. A club representing the Isle of Man has also been welcomed into the NWCFL for next season and will play in First Division South
