Lancashire Cricket Club have released batsman Stephen Moore, a key member of their 2011 County Championship-winning squad.
Moore scored over 1,000 runs two years ago as the Red Rose won the title for the first time since 1934 but has struggled since.
The 32-year-old has made just two first-class appearances this season, prompting Lancashire to opt against renewing his contract which expires at the end of the season.
Cricket director Mike Watkinson said: “The club would like to thank Stephen for his contributions in recent seasons.
“We have not been able to create regular places for him in all competitions and hopefully he will pursue options elsewhere.
“He goes with our best wishes.”
Head coach Peter Moores added: “Stephen has been an outstanding member of the squad over the last three years and had a major influence in the championship winning team in 2011.
“Through a lack of opportunity in four-day cricket it has been decided to allow him to look to for opportunities elsewhere. I would like to thank him for all he has given to the team in his time with us.”
