Division Two champions-elect Lancashire were pushing for a fitting finish to their clash with Gloucestershire on Friday.

Having made 310 for eight declared, Lancashire’s cricketers bowled Gloucester out for 209 and will look to get amongst their hosts in the afternoon session for a win which would be followed by a lifting of the trophy.

Oliver Newby took four for 71 Tom Smith four for 49 as Lancashire’s bowlers held the edge.

At one point, Gloucester stood at 132 for three before slumping to 155 for nine.

There was then a late rally as Gloucester put on 54 for the last wicket.
