Tri-Golf, a miniature version of the game designed for children, is among the sports in this year’s Games and AllStars attended this week’s qualifier on the Fuse Football Astroturf at Fleetwood Town’s Poolfoot Park complex.

Year 3 and 4 pupils from 11 schools took part, with Shakespeare Primary amassing most points among the Wyre schools and Ansdell doing likewise for Fylde.

Both teams will compete in the SPAR Lancashire Youth Games at Blackpool’s Stanley Park on July 5, joining their other successful qualifiers from their schools – Shakespeare had already won through in girls’ football and tag rugby, and Ansdell in gymnastics.

Monday’s Tri-Golf qualifier was supported by young leaders from Cardinal Allen High School and Millfield Science and Performing Arts College, who had completed a course as Golf Roots Tri Golf activators. The event was also supported by Chris Holt from Poulton Golf Club.
