Sickness forces Cardle bout wait

LYTHAM boxer Scott Cardle will miss out on his date in the ring in Liverpool on Friday night.

The bill has been put back a fortnight.

The top-of-the-bill attraction between Tony Bellew and Danny Mcintosh has been put on hold because of illness to one of the fighters.

McIntosh suffered a chest infection, so the show will now go ahead at the original venue, The Echo Arena, Liverpool, on April 27.

Cardle will be boxing journeyman Johnny Greaves, the original opponent he should have faced on his debut on the under-card of the Kell Brook v Mathew Hatton’ War Of The Roses’ Bill in Sheffield last month.

He has been topping up his preparations at Amir Khan’s Gloves Gym in Bolton under the watchful eye of his trainer Joe Gallagher, as he has a full diary of dates ahead over the course of the year.

*KIRKHAM’S Adam Little now knows his opponent on a show at Oldham Sports Centre on April 21.

He faces Bolton’s Chris Jenkinson, whose three-fight record is one win, one loss and one draw.

Also on the bill is Matty Askin’s bid to win the English cruiserweight title against Jon Lewis Dickinson.

The bout is an eliminator for the British title.
