Blackpool fighter Brian Rose will meet Carson Jones for the World Boxing Council light-middleweight title at the Manchester Arena on January 23.
Rose challenged unsuccessfully for the world light-middleweight title earlier in the year against Demetrius Andrade and continues his charge to a second shot with a tough test against Jones, who is familiar on these shores after he gave Kell Brook the fight of his life in July 2012 and returning for a re-match last summer.
“I’m excited to be back in the ring again in Manchester on January 23 fighting for another title,” Rose said.
“I enjoyed watching Carson taking on Kell and he always comes to fight - I think our styles make for a great match up.
“The atmosphere in the Arena is going to be electric that night and I’m looking forward to getting the win and moving up the world rankings.
The Blackpool boxer faces Oklahoma’s Jones on the undercard of Anthony Crolla’s WBA world lightweight title challenge against Richar Abril, as the Manchester favourite aims to cap an outstanding 18 months in the ring by ripping the title from the Cuban fighter.
