People do know I’ve had an injury and my performances haven’t been as good as they should have been, so there’s a bit of extra pressure in this fight.

“I’m hoping on June 7 I’ll be spectacular and people will go away talking about it.”

After being on the sidelines for such a lengthy period, many young boxers would want to ease themselves back into action with a number of fights against modest opponents.

Little, however, stresses that he doesn’t want any soft touches as he’s looking to push towards title opportunities later of the year.

“I want to be in with someone with a winning record,” the Ricky Hatton-trained fighter stated. “I think my apprenticeship as a pro is over now and I want to be in decent fights.

“I‘m not trying rush into anything because that could leave me in deep water, but I do think the welterweight division is wide open.

“I’ve still got a lot to learn but I believe I can be fighting for the Central Area title before the end of this year.

“The champion Chris Johnson has a lot more experience than me.

“He’s had 20 fights, he’s fought Lee Purdy and he’s won quite a few by stoppage, but I think that’s the sort of fight I’ll be looking at soon.”
