That’s down to their hard work raising money for new sports kit ahead of their exciting tour.Curriculum leader in PE Mel Campbell decided last October to organise the tour for year 10 and 11 football and netball teams at the All Hallows Road school to reward them for their success in local, regional and national competitions. The 56 pupils who signed up for the tour, which will involve matches against teams from all over Europe, have since been fundraising enthusiastically for new kit, backed by fellow students, staff, family and friends. A raffle has run throughout the past two months, while a year 11 v staff football match was organised, and cookies and doughnuts have been sold to raise further cash. The initial target of £1,500 was reached within weeks and a total of £2,600 was eventually raised. This enabled the school to buy not only sports kits but also special sports tour hoodies for all those involed. The great new gear has recently arrived and AllStars was invited along to watch the pupils trying it out.On their return from Holland, the kit will be worn for fixtures afterwards. Montgomery wish to say a special thank you to all businesses and sports organisations that contributed to the raffle.
