Blackpool schools are taking a hands on approach to developing a fast-growing sport this term.

Blackpool schools are taking a hands on approach to developing a fast-growing sport this term.

Handball is on the curriculum for boys and girls in secondary schools, with competitions for different year groups each week.

St Mary’s Catholic Academy hosted the girls’ year 10 tournament last week and invited AllStars along .

Unity emerged as the overall winners, with host school St Mary’s second, St George’s third and South Shore fourth.

St Mary’s teacher Julie Roberts said: “This is an up-and-coming sport within schools which is proving very popular.”
