Blackpool and District Youth League round-up

Foxhall and Thornton Cleveleys had to be separated by a penalty shoot-out after they drew 2-2 in the Gold Bond Blackpool and District Youth Football League U12 Hogan Cup semi-finals.

Goals from Louis Johnstone and Sam Adshead for Reds and a Connor Satchell brace for Foxhall sent the game to penalties, in which Foxhall came out 4-2 winners.

In the U13 semi-final Clifton beat Foxhall 6-2 thanks to goals from Nathan Shaw (2), Bailey Blakeley, William Slananki, Jamie Benson-Brookfield and an own goal. Kaiden Shorrocks and Dylan Henshall replied.

Clifton were also victorious in the U15 semis as goals from Jacob Wharrie, Jamie Hargreaves and Theo Iaunnou gave them a 3-1 victory against Blackpool Rangers Tangerines, for whom Paul Hargreaves replied.

AFC Blackpool got to their first Hogan Cup final after beating Staining 6-2. Daniel Carr scored two, and with further goals from Lee Casey, Rylan Casey, Elliot Summerfield and an own goal sealed it, while Staining’s replies came from George Powlesland and James Healey .

In the U12 Alpha division, BJFF Blades extended their lead at the top of the table after goals from Sheick Fadairo, Ethan Kinsey, Matthew Finney and Ralf Threlfall-Newton gave them a 4-0 win against Layton.

St Annes beat Thornton Cleveleys Whites 6-2 as Angello Karadzhinov and Luke Black scored two a piece. Joshua Grindley and Oliver Williamson scored the others, while Ryan Beck and Harley Man replied.

Goals from Liam Brown (2) and Owen Mason kept BJFF Blades’ perfect record intact with a 3-0 win at St Annes, while Lytham Juniors shocked second-placed Foxhall with a 2-1 win thanks to James Lumsden and Rhys Dodd. Adam Rodgers replied.

Thornton Cleveleys Blues edged out BJFF Vipers 2-1 thanks to Aaron Clinghan and Ellis Wilson’s 20th goal in five games, Vipers’ goal coming from Joseph Warwick.

Free-scoring Poulton won 15-0 against Blackpool Rangers with hat-tricks from Declan Bond and Joshua Hampson, plus braces for Daniel Clegg and Jamie Elliot and further goals from Mali Crabtree, Lewis Haworth, Freddie Ankers, Harrison Bailey and Charlie Clark.

In the U14 Alpha competition, Thornton Cleveleys Reds have won every game and goals from Luca Barea(2), Jay Davies, Conor Thompson and Jack Wyers-Roebuck kept that run going with a 5-0 win at BJFF Blades.

Kirkham remain second after beating BJFF Blues 3-0 courtesy of goals from Oli Martin, Tom Batten and Sam Saxton, while lowly Fleetwood Town managed a 3-2 win against YMCA.

Fleetwood took an early lead before YMCA got back on level terms with a strike from Spencer Baxendale to make it 1-1 at the break.

Fenn Breakell fired YMCA ahead but it wasn’t long before Town pulled the score back to 2-2. Fleetwood eventually found a winner with 10 minutes left. Kai Thomas, Branden Sissons and Olly Tormey fired Fleetwood’s goals.

Luca Hardman and Sam Latham secured Blackpool Rangers a 2-1 win over Layton Lions, for whom Luke Rawstron scored.

In the Beta league, four goals from Sam Breeze and strikes by Harrison Stott (2), Dan Stenton, Luigi Chiappe and Lewis Perry sent Foxhall top after they beat Layton Clarets 9-1, Christian Dzeigel replying.

Lytham Juniors and Fleetwood Gym played out a 1-1 draw, Ryan Pilling with Lytham’s goal.

Warton Blues beat BJFF Vipers thanks to Chris Wilkinson’s hat-trick and pairs from Korben Robinson and Bradley Parsons, while five goals from Cameron Walker set South Shore on their way to an 8-2 win at Foxhall Hoops. Joseph Currie, Kyle Greenwood and Joshua Summers-Green scored the others, with Ethan Lees and Declan Bonney on target for the Hoops.

With Clifton in cup action, Kirkham Blues took advantage to stretch their lead at the top of the U15 Alpha division with a 7-1 win against Blackpool Rangers Revolution. Jay Marolia scored two and there were further goals from Cian Menzies, Rory Kelly, Connor Baxter, Noah Fluss-Tramontano and Joe Newell, while Jake Denehey replied.

BJFF Blades leapfrogged St Annes into third place with a fantastic 11-1 win thanks to hat-tricks by Woods and Ainsworth. Other scorers were Prior(2), West, Hulme and Rainey, with Kyle Townsend on target for the visitors.

In the Poulton derby, Town came out on top 5-1 against Poulton FC as Connor Prendergast scored four, with Nathan Feeney also on target. Ryan Corbett replied.

Martin Holdaway scored South Shore’s goal in their 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town.

The game of the day in the Beta league saw second-placed FC Rangers host leaders Kirkham Reds and it was Rangers who closed the gap to a single point with a brilliant 3-0 win thanks to goals from Kyle Starkie, Daniel Gray and Kye Wylie, keeping their unbeaten record intact.

Third-placed Fleetwood Gym were stunned by Lytham Juniors Home Heat, losing a seven-goal thriller.

Fleetwood took a 2-0 lead in the opening 10 minutes. Kai Clarkson Lowe then halved the deficit with a fine volley before Jordan Costin made it 2 - 2 at half-time. Lytham created several clear chances before Fleetwood regained the advantage midway through the half.

Bill Gallagher’s long shot found its way into the Fleetwood net to level the scores again before the impressive Joshj Serghi hit the winner for Lytham with 10 minutes to go.

Warton Typhoons were also unable to beat lower opposition after goals from Cameron Cregg (2), Joe Pinkett and Alex Davidson gave Blackpool Rangers D12 a 4-0 win.

A Lucas Kilgallon brace and further goals from Nathan Chase and Kaleb Chikites saw St Annes Bombers beat Layton 4-1, Jack Smith replying.

In the U16 Alpha, YMCA won 2-0 at Poulton to boost their title challenge.

Jack Bishop flashed a shot wide and Pat Lonsdale shot across the face of the goal in the opening exchanges but the first half ended goalless.

As the game looked to be drifting towards a draw, James Cowburn sweetly sidefooted the ball past the keeper to break the deadlock.

As the home side pushed players forward in search of an equaliser, Crelin won the ball on the halfway line and sent an inviting pass to Bishop, who fired home with an incisive shot from close range to secure the points for YMCA and maintain their title challenge.

Jacob Mullin scored the only goal of the game as Blackpool Rangers beat Layton Blues 1-0, while Bradley(2), Grogan and Berrisford gave BJFF Vipers a 4-0 win at Wyre.

Harry Sagar was the star of the show as his four goals secured St Annes a 4-3 at third-placed Clifton, for whom Andy Drake(2) and Lewis Henshall replied.

Poulton Town or Warton Typhoons both scored an own goal as their game finished 1-1.

AFC Blackpool are joint top of the U18 league after Jake Barrett, Joe Seear and Tom Griffiths gave them a 3-1 win at St Annes, for whom Alex Varley scored.

Spirit of Youth Yellows are share top spot with them after they beat third-placed FC Rangers Blues 4-1.

After going a goal down, Spirit dug in and equalised before half-time with a superb volley from outside the area by Connor Dunleavy.

The second half saw total dominance from Spirit and they were soon 2-1 up when Dunleavy scored again.

Spirit soon made it 3-1 as a brilliant run and cross from Robert Markillie enabled Jordan Parker to turn and fire home brilliantly. Parker sealed the game when he outmuscled the FC defence for Spirit’s fourth.

Dominic Snape scored four and a George Chesworth strike completed Warton Typhoons, 5-2 win at Spirit of Youth Blues, for whom Josh Knott scored both goals.
