Blackpool and District Youth League round-up

The result allowed Poulton to close the gap with their 4-2 win against Foxhall, goals coming from Nico Cobb (2), Soloman Mattatia and Tom Gut. James Knight and Connor Edmondson replied for Foxhall.

Conna Smith scored for Layton in their 1-1 draw with St Annes, for whom Jack Walker scored.

In the U13 division, both teams with 100 per cent records won again, BJFF Blades leading the way with a 17-1 win at local rivals Blackpool Rangers. There were hat- tricks for Harry Pratt, Jake Guy, Daniel Smith and Archie Brown, while Charlie Croasdale (2) and Owen Mason were also on target, Leo Hela replying.

Jack Robinson was another hat-trick hero and his strikes, along with goals by Ethan Goulding (2), Mackenzie Maruszak-Webster(2), Oscar Dugdale, Joshua Dolby-Armstrong, Lucas Miller and Brolan Grundy, gave Squires Gate an 11-0 win against Foxhall Hoops.

Foxhall stay second after Rio Louth’s hat-trick and a goal form Alex Mullen gave them a 4-0 win against Fleetwood Gym.

Callum Fielding scored his third hat-trick of the season to help Clifton to a 7-1 win against Thornton Cleveleys, Harry Shaw, Oliver Shaw, Harry Webster and Luke Mushet also on target and Marcus Jolly netting the reply.

Two goals from Charlie Shuttleworth-Breen and a Ilya Kosogorin strike gave St Annes a shock 3-3 draw in their derby against high-flying Lytham, for whom Rhys Dodd(2) and Ewan Macauley were on target.

In the U14 Hogan Plate quarter-finals, favourites Kirkham edged out BJFF Blues 5-3 thanks to goals from Cameron Green(2), Cameron Leigh, Tom Batten and Taylor Stock, while Moran, Moore and Bamber replied.

Aaran Lewin and Adam Urquhart gave Layton Lions a 2-0 win at BJFF Whites. The Blues of Layton also won through to the semis Denes Ballo scored three and Cameron Richards the other in a 4-1 win at South Shore, whose goal came from Joseph Currie.

Their Clarets couldn’t make it three out of four semi- finalists for Layton as Foxhall beat them 6-0 courtesy of a Sam Breeze hat-trick, plus strikes by Matthew Quinn, Rob Baker and an own goal.

In the Alpha league, Clifton went up to second with a 4-1 win against BJFF Blades thanks to Denny Cain(2), George Acton and Harry Cox, Miller replying. Sam Latham scored the only goal of the game as Blackpool Rangers beat Poulton Town 1-0.

In the Beta league, Fleetwood Gym went third by leap frogging opponents Warton Typhoons Gold 4-2 thanks to Dickenson(2), Archie Lee, and Sophie Slater. Tom Wharton and Oliver Singleton replied.

Warton Blues came out on top of a five-goal thriller at Lytham thanks to goals from Bradley Parsons(2) and Chris Wilkinson, while Foxhall Hoops got their first points of the season by beating BJFF Vipers 4-2, with goals coming from Leon Holmes (2), Dan Horne and Nathaniel Grimshaw, Hickling and Murphy replying.

Kirkham Blues kept their unbeaten record going with a fine 4-1 win against Blackpool Rangers Tangerines in theU15 Alpha league courtesy of Liam Bradley, Rory Kelly, Connor Baxter and Jaay Marolia, while four goals Theo Ioannou, braces from Max Older and Henry Eadie, plus a Finley Clarkson gave Clifton a 9-0 win at Fleetwood Town.

BJFF Blades also were big winners with a 10-1 win at Blackpool Rangers Revolution, with two goals each from Gibbons, Rudge, Ainsworth, Wood and Rainey. Ciaran Kimmance replied.

Connor Prendergast scored four as Poulton Town beat South Shore 7-2. Harry Jenkins(2) and Nathan Feeney also scored, and Cameron Gourley bagged both for Shore. Ethan Hallett and Nathan Tolley scored as St Annes beat Poulton 2-0.

In the U15 Beta league, Lytham beat Northgate 4-2 to remain unbeaten in 2016, but they had to fight hard against a good Northgate side, who battled hard with only eight players.

Andy Ford fired Lytham in front with a good turn a shot from the edge of the box, before Northgate responded and led 2-1 midway through the second half thanks to Jacob Kovalik and Alex Gillespie.

Andy Ford netted his and Lytham’s second, tapping in Camerson Smith’s effort.

Jordan Costin restored Lytham’s advantage before netting the fourth in the closing stages. Ollie Seers was the pick of the Lytham players.

Joe Pinkett claimed a hat-trick and Cameron Cregg the other in Blackpool Rangers’ 4-0 win at Spirit of Youth.

In the U16 Alpha league, Foxhall remain unbeaten after goals from Bailey Parker-Starkie (2), Connor Finlayson, Steven Hodgkinson and Charlie Allan gave them a 5-1 win at Blackpool Rangers, with Jonny Hocking on target for Rangers.

A Luke Eastham hat-trick and a brace from Dylan Benson gave Poulton a 5-1 win against Wyre, for whom Tom Crane scored.

Goals from Andrew Drake and Luke Daniels gave third- placed Clifton a 2-0 win at Poulton Town in the Beta league (see previous page), while Layton Clarets had a Jaydan Marsh hat-trick to celebrate in the 5-1 win over Staining.

Jamie Logan and Corey Stott scored the others and Joe Murray replied.

A stunning seven goals from Ackrill and a Van Wyk goal gave St Annes an 8-1 win at Warton Typhoons, for whom Henry Fiddler replied.

In the U18 league, Spirit of Youth Yellows went back to the top with a breathtaking 6-5 win at St Annes,

Spirit went 1-0 up early only to find themselves 4-1 down by half-time.

Spirit came out with a totally different attitude for the second half, moving into a 5-4 lead with goals shared between Connor Dunleavy and Jordan Parker.

St Annes then equalised only for Spirit to win in with 30 seconds left, when Parker completed a hat-trick of headers from a free-kick.

Alex Varley scored four and Matty Rhodes was also on target for St Anne as bottom club Spirit of Youth Blues stunned former leaders AFC Blackpool with a 2-2 draw thanks to Josh Knott and Josh Halstead.

Blackpool’s Sean Riley and Connor Slater replied.

Luke Harris’ hat-trick and two goals by Kieran Clark earned FC Rangers a Blacks a 5-3 victory over Warton Typhoons, for whom Ryan Holgate (2) and Matthew Shacklock were the scorers.
