Wesham’s runners had few events to choose from in what was a very quiet week locally.
The Vernons 4 mile took place on Sunday morning from the Factory Lane base.
Simon Denye was the first Wesham finisher in sixth place with a good time of 23:02 for second M40.
David Taylor, fresh from his marathon debut last week at Chester, was eighth in 23:29.
Steve Myerscough was 14th in 24:55, Chris Moss was 52nd with 29:50, Alan Taylor finished 58th in 30:28, Ben Wrigley was 61st in 30:55 and Graham Vickers 74th in 32:09.
Three Wesham runners took part in the new West Coast Half Marathon, running westwards from Preston to Lytham along the edge of the main A582 road.
Paul Hetherington was 10th in 1:27.04, just seven minutes adrift of local race winner Paul Muller.
Nicola Unsworth was sixth woman in 1:42.30, finishing 47th overall, while Jen Salt was 18th woman and 80th overall with 1:49.09.
John Howorth finished 124th in the Race2Remember at Scorton on Sunday, completing the 8K off-road circuit in Wyresdale Park in 61:24.
There was more going on in the local parkruns on Saturday morning, where Nicola Unsworth warmed up at the Lytham Hall run with 21:41.
Phil Leaver ran 24:06, Dave Young 24:25, Sharon Cooper 24:46, Kim McGuire 27:58, Anne Berry 29:06, Caz Wadsworth 29:42, Wendy Monnelly 30:27, accompanied by Kerry Eccles, followed by Debbie Bell (30:46) with Helen Lawrenson.
Debbie Davies ran 31:13, Clive Berry 31:57 and Charlotte Eccles a PB of 34:29.
Robert Brown ran the Preston parkrun in 25:11,while Michaela Dempsey finished the Keswick run in 25:44.
At the Watergrove parkrun, outside Rochdale on a largely fellside course, David Taylor kicked his legs back into shape with 19:49, posting the second fastest tine of the day.
Megan Gore posted a time of 35:51, while Steven Gore finished in 36:23.
