The Great Eccleston Fast Four on Sunday morning was the latest race in the Wesham club championship and brought out a good number of club members to race.
Garry Barnett was the club’s first finisher in fifth place with 23:53 for the four-mile single loop, all in aid of the Scouts Club.
Peter Cruse was next across the line in sixth place with 24:31 with Steven Gore eighth in 25:19 as the trio won the men’s team.
Helen Lawrenson was 12th in 26:12, Kath Hoyer 24th with 30:24 and Sharon Cooper 26th in 30:47 as Blackpool edged out the Wesham women by one point.
Elsewhere, Jason Blagden (25:39) was ninth, Alan Hudson (27:51) 14th, Ryan Azzopardi (29:23) 20th, Peter Rooney (30:30) 25th, Dave Young (30th, 31:35), Vicky Gore (32:21) 33rd, Kerry Eccles (32:29) 34th and Pauline Eccleston (32:40) 36th.
Robert Danson was 37th in 32:53 to finish ahead of Tanya Barlow (38th, 32:59), Jonathan Sanderson (39th, 33:39), Dave Waywell (42nd, 34:20), Maureen Danson (46th, 35:03), Paul Carter (48th, 35:31) and Julie Rooney (53rd, 36:45).
In the fourth race of the Lancaster Summer 5K Series, Steve Myerscough was 13th in a time of 18:03 and finished ahead of Helen Lawrenson (20:06, PB).
Dave Young ran the Pilling 10K in 50:40, finishing 33rd, Steve Myerscough (40:39) finished 11th in the Harrock Hill race series, while Sarah Sherratt ran the Pendleton Fell Race in 55:24.
John Bertenshaw ran in the Mid-Cheshire Summer 5K on Thursday evening and he ran a swift 19:48 with a chip time of 19:43.
There were four Wesham members in the Illuminations 10K on Saturday evening as the lights were switched on for a trial.
Robert Brown was 171st in 50:23, Rob Wallace 212th with 52:01, Graham Brook was 250th in 53:12 and Lynn Brown 693rd with 1:07.37.
