Singleton Cloggers, 1953

Singleton Cloggers dancing the Fylde for 70 years

They have danced for Pimms, appeared on Britain’s Got Talent and are highly distinctive in their red and blue costumes.

And for Singleton Cloggers, this year is one of the most celebrated for they have reached their 70-year anniversary.
Singleton Cloggers are a mixed team of dancers from the Fylde village and was formed in 1949 to participate in Singleton Village Club Day.

Except for a short break in the late 1960s the group have danced throughout the decades. Their dances have been named after local landmarks, all created by the team. There have been variations of uniform, however the clogs have remained the constant.
