The family of a missing mum have pleaded for her to return home safely.

Gail Hatton, 49, has not been seen since leaving her home in Elvaston Road, Carleton late on Monday or in the early hours of Tuesday.

Her worried daughter, Jemma-Dawn Hatton, said: “I just want her to know, even though we’re angry, we love her and want her home safe.”

Ms Hatton, who lives with her mother-in-law and has mental health issues, has never gone missing overnight before, Jemma-Dawn, 24, of Cleveleys, added.

She was described by police as being 5ft 6ins tall, white, with shoulder length reddish brown hair, and of a stocky build.

Ms Hatton was last seen at 10.20pm on Monday, and may have taken a blue waterproof rain mac with her, a spokesman for Lancashire Police added.

Anybody with information has been asked to call officers on 101, quoting reference number 719 of May 10, 2016.
