Two held on firearms offences after police surround Blackpool house

Armed police have been called to a house in Preston New Road in Blackpool.

Armed officers were called to the home at 12.35pm.

Two men aged 37 and 34, both from Blackpool, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of offences under the firearms act.

Police did not give any more details, but have reassured the public that the incident is not terrorism related.

The Force Incident Manager said: “Officers are dealing with the situation, which is not something that the wider public of Lancashire need to worry about.”
