Police have tracked down a man they said was posing as a health visitor trying to trick their way into people's homes.
Blackpool officers issued a warning call to all parents asking them to be vigilant, after reports of two incidents near Bloomfield Road, central Blackpool, and Ansdell Road earlier this month.
But since the warning, and thanks to responses from the appeal, officers have tracked the man and can now confirm he was an employee from a market research company who was conducting surveys.
A police statement released today, March 12, said: "This person did not enter the properties and did not have any contact with children. We are satisfied that there was no intent to commit a crime or gain access to children.
"We always take these kinds of reports seriously and would urge you to report any concerns you have to us."
