The children were set a challenge to design, make and bake their own food products and launch them at an after school sale where the winners were judged on their profit and quality of product.

Each class was given a restricted budget of £20 for the Apprentice-style challenge to spend on ingredients and marketing.

The children in Year 4 were the overall winners when it came to sheer profit with a total £80 for their sales of ‘Calculation Crispy Cakes’ and ‘Hot Chocolate Charlie Cones.’

But Year 5 were the class that was eventually ‘hired’ for their marketing of their delicious ‘Christmas Reindeer Biscuits.’

Subject leader, Graham Clements, from the school on Garstang Road North, Wesham, said: “What a fabulous week.

“From Foundation Stage to Year 6 all the children were inspired to think about how business affects their lives.

“More importantly, we had a great time in the taking on the challenge.”
