Residents will be able to put their concerns to Wyre Council leader Coun Peter Gibson during his visit to Garstang today.

In recent weeks, Coun Gibson has spoken directly to members of Wyre communities, urging locals to make representations to the planning committee amid mounting anger over multiple development proposals around the area.

He will be in the town centre with the council’s ibus at Booths Car Park, Windsor Road, from 1pm today.

Coun Gibson said: “I will be happy to meet residents on these out and about trips to discuss services provided by the council, answer any questions or address any concerns.”

The leader spoke out following growing concerns over housing development plans in the Garstang area and the surrounding villages. Nearly 1,000 residents have now joined up to a protest page ‘Garstang Under Threat’ on social networking site Facebook.

And to date Wyre Council has received more than 300 representations to a major application for 300 homes off the A6 at Nateby .

All residents are invited to come on board the ibus to meet Coun Gibson.
