Youngsters revel in festival fun galore

Hundreds of families flocked to Ashton Gardens to enjoy a wide variety of stalls offering fun and games for youngsters and promoting various local organisations.

Meanwhile, in the nearby St Annes Palace, cakes, crafts and a variety of other items were available at a youth market, which attracted a steady flow of customers throughout the day.

There was also the opportunity to sample taster sessions with local clubs offering youth activities.

“It all went very well and we will certainly be looking into repeating it,” said Bethany Lacey of organisers Excel Fostering.

“The weather was ideal, the event was busy all day and we were delighted with the support.

“We had felt there was a place in the calendar for an event specially aimed at children and young people and we were really pleased with the response – both in terms of ideas put forward beforehand and the turnout on the day.

“It would be good to build on that next year and beyond and possibly make it even bigger.

“Thanks to everyone who came along.”
