Youngsters in fine voice for Christmas switch-on

Carols, colouring and Christmas lights were the focus at this year's switch-on event in Thornton.

Reception pupil Alex Ayres, from Sacred Heart School, and Olivia Clueit, in year four at Baines Endowed School, won a colouring competition and had the honour of pressing the big red button.

Mayor of Wyre Coun Terry Lees wished residents a Merry Christmas at the event outside the Co-op, on Victoria Road East, on Tuesday.
