Reigning X Factor winner Ben Haenow has been revealed as Blackpool’s Christmas lights switch-on star.
Ben will perform his number one single Something I Need at the ceremony in St John’s Square on Saturday November 21, as well as new material including his new track Second Hand Heart.
The action kicks off from 3pm with MOBO and Brit Award winners Stooshe live on stage performing their hits including Black Heart and cover of TLC’s Waterfalls.
Britain’s Got Talent favourites The Neales will be joined by finalists Jack Pack with their signature smooth swing voices.
Blackpool talent will be represented by hip hop/pop combo Myth of Unity, singer Chloe Moyle, singer and pianist AJ Brown and talented children from Starmaker Performing Arts Academy as well as a preview performance from the cast of Viva Blackpool.
Paul Nicholas and the supporting cast of the Opera House spectacular A Christmas Carol will also be delighting the crowd with an exclusive preview performance of the Dickens’ classic.
Radio Wave presenters Roy Lynch and Scott Gallagher will host the free event with Ben Haenow due to switch on the Christmas lights at 5.30pm
Eileen Ormand, manager of the Blackpool Business Improvement District (BID) which has organised the event, said: “We are thrilled to have Ben Haenow on stage for this year’s Christmas lights switch on.
“The show promises to have a brilliant atmosphere and the mix of professional and local artists styles will really kick-start Christmas for us all and offers something for every taste.”
