A mix-up over dates caused confusion last week, when the market was due to start until it was delayed by legal technicalities, but Wyre Council has confirmed it will be running from 8am until 4pm.

It will be held at The Plaza at the top of Victoria Road West.

A 14-week trial of the new weekly street market has been agreed, starting from tomorrow.

There will be a maximum of 12 stalls and, weather permitting, the market will run every Wednesday until November 28.

The plans were first drawn up last year and, after consulting with existing town centre retailers and working on the various licenses and paperwork required, the team have now made the market a reality.
