A GROUP of writers leapt to the rescue after heartless thieves stole charity cash.
The Cleveleys Writers were horrified when cash due to be donated to Hounds for Heroes was stolen from Bispham’s Tee Time Golf Centre.
Now, in a bid to recoup the stolen money the writers have produce their own book of poems which is on sale at the golf course.
Malcom Brocklehurst, a member of the group and an ex-serviceman, said: “I was appalled when I heard of the theft and the Cleveleys Writers have charged into the breach with a collection of poems to amuse and entertain the reader.”
Copies of the anthology can be bought from the golf centre for £3 with all the money going to charity.
