Woman threatened to kill herself

A woman who threatened to kill herself has appeared at court for damaging an anti-suicide top the police put her in while in custody.

Kelby Caton told an officer that she wanted to make a noose with the top so she could hang herself.

Caton, 22, of Coronation Street, Blackpool, pleaded guilty to causing £55 worth of damage to an anti-suicide top belonging to Lancashire police.

She also admitted being drunk and disorderly in St George’s Road, St Annes, on October 30 last year.

Caton was given a 12- month conditional discharge and told to pay a £150 court charge plus £50 costs by Blackpool magistrates who said they were not going to order her to pay compensation for the damaged top.
