Woman hit by van treated for '˜minor injuries'

A woman escaped with just '˜minor injuries' after being knocked down in the street.

Paramedics treated the woman, in her 60s, as she lay in the road after she was hit by a van on Victoria Road West, in Cleveleys, on Tuesday. She was later taken to hospital but her injuries were not thought to be serious.

Police also attended the scene, at around 7.30pm.

A North West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

“A female patient in her 60s was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital with minor injuries.”

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “A woman has been hit by a van near to KFC. She was taken to hospital.”
