A pensioner who battered his wife of 45 years has been refused permission by a court to return to the family home.
Michael Hackney had punched his wife in the jaw and pushed her off a bed causing her head to smash a hole in the wall.
Hackney, 66, of Bambers Walk, Wesham, who previously pleaded guilty to two offences of assaulting his wife, will be sentenced at a later date.
He was bailed by Blackpool magistrates on the conditions he did not contact his wife or go to the family home.
Pam Smith, prosecuting, said the police and the prosecution opposed the application to vary Hackney’s bail.
Defence lawyer, Robert Castle, said Hackney’s wife wanted him back.
