Wi-fi for patients and visitors at the Vic

For a number of years the Trust’s IT Department has been exploring options to offer patients and visitors a free to use limited Wi-Fi.

Shaun Bucknill, head of ICT at the Trust, said: “Blackpool Council has offered for some time a public Wi-Fi service at a number of their locations and with the connection of the two organisations the reach of this network can now be extended Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

“While the initial roll out is limited to non-bedded areas, due to existing contractual arrangements with the Trust, it is expected that this service will grow and become available to more areas in time.”
