These pink ladies have joined the Race For Life army, and are urging others on the Fylde coast to do the same.
More than 50 members of Wendy Holland’s Fitness Studios, in Thornton, have already signed up to take part in this year’s Cancer Research fund-raiser on Blackpool Promenade.
The women will be running as part of the WHF Warriors team and some of them took part in a special Zumba class last week to encourage other women to join them.
This year’s women-only Race For Life will take place in Blackpool, on July 1, and includes both a 5k and 10k route.
Instructor, personal trainer and studio owner Wendy Barratt will be leading the warm-up for a fourth year.
Wendy said: “Last year, we had more than 50 ladies taking part and this year we would like to double the size of our team, so we are inviting all Fylde coast ladies to join us.
“To help raise awareness of the event, we decorated the studio in pink and set up our ‘pink studio accessory shop’.
“We invited class members to dress in pink, to encourage ladies to sign up for the Race For Life. Thirty-five of my regular ladies donned pink for the night and took part in an hour-long Zumba class.
“Some of the women who attend my classes have either survived cancer or have family members who are battling the disease, which gives us all the more reason to sign up to Race For Life.
“Our message is: let’s gang up on cancer and show it the door!”
