The youngest members of Lytham St Annes RNLI crew are to embark on a charity challenge – wearing some very eye-catching clothing.
Ben McGarry and Matt Daniels, both aged 20, will take on the challenge of climbing one of Britain’s highest peaks, Mount Snowdon in Wales, wearing their foul-weather gear of a waterproof jacket, salopettes, wellington boots and lifejacket on June 29.
The duo are looking to raise £1,000 for the RNLI.
Ben said: “It will be a really tough test of endurance.
“The suits we’ll be wearing are designed to keep water out and keep us very warm when out on rescues and exercise, just in case we go overboard.
“If we get warm weather it could be extremely uncomfortable.
“To add to that, we’ll be walking up and down the mountain in wellies, for around six to eight hours, which could take a toll itself.”

Collection boxes will also be inside the RNLI shops in Lytham and St Annes.
