Fylde coast lass Emma Draper is celebrating after her shop was crowned Best Bridal Retailer in the country in the 2015 Wedding Industry Awards.

The business, LOVE Bridal Boutique, also scooped Best New Bridal Retailer in the You & Your Wedding magazine awards 2014.

The store, based in Altrincham, in Cheshire, was set up by Emma, from Blackpool, and husband Jonny two-and-a-half years ago.

The pair live and breathe weddings, as Jonny is also a successful, award-winning wedding photographer.

The shop has even had a celebrity customer, in the form of double Olympic gold medallist Rebecca Adlington, who found her stunning wedding dress at the boutique and graced the front cover of Hello magazine.

The famous swimmer said: “I loved the shop straight away and was greeted by a warm, friendly smile.

“Emma went above and beyond – from giving me recommendations about other wedding suppliers, to putting me in touch with the designer, always getting back to me straight away.

“She even came the morning of my wedding to steam my dress and dress me personally.

“She made the whole experience, from first trying the dress on, to the wedding so special.”

Emma whose family live in Blackpool and Lytham, said: “We were so delighted to win the award.

“We had won a regional award and didn’t think we had a chance for the national award, as there was really strong competition.

“I think we were up against 100 boutiques overall from across the country, so we were really pleased and proud.”

Former Elmslie Girls School pupil Emma, who grew up in St Annes and Lytham, said: “I was working in advertising and marketing when I left university, and Jonny had been running his wedding photography business for about 10 years, I left my career and started working for him. Then I started doing bridal make-up. And I got a part-time job in a wedding dress shop.

“We thought this could work for us as a business and that’s how LOVE started.

“Every single person who comes in is different and I love meeting them all.

“I really enjoy helping people to find that beautiful dress for their special day.

“We try to run it with a relaxed attitude, no hard-sell, just friendly and welcoming.

“Because of our contacts, we can make recommendations to people for other aspects of their wedding.

“And we will only recommend those we’ve worked with and feel offer a good service, that’s important to us.”
