Blackpool weather: This is when the sunshine will return this week

It has been a thoroughly wet July so far, but the summer sunshine is expected to return to Blackpool this week.

The Met Office has forecast a mostly wet and windy week ahead, with scattered showers and overcast skies continuing until the end of July.

But Friday (July 31) will see the rain begin to ease and the sun return to the resort for the first weekend of August.

Scattered heavy showers will develop as the rain clears before easing towards evening.

It is likely to stay cool in the breeze. Minimum temperature of 9°C.

Tuesday morning will be windy with scattered showers. The showers will die out through the afternoon. Temperatures down a little from today (Monday). Maximum temperature of 16 °C.

Outlook for Wednesday to Friday:

Later in the week will be largely dry with sunny spells, though some rain later on Thursday. The weather will likely turn warmer towards the end of the week and winds should ease.

A brief very warm spell is likely for the Fylde Coast at the end of this week, with a good deal of sunshine, although increasing cloud may bring further rain to the northwest.

Through early August changeable weather is likely to continue with bands of rain, perhaps accompanied by strong winds, interspersed with brighter, showery conditions.

However, all areas should have some dry spells. It is likely to be on the cool side for western parts of England, whereas temperatures will be warmer across the east and southeast.
