Cyclists are being urged to be extra vigilant after a spate of high value bike thefts in the Thornton and Cleveleys areas.
Thieves are targeting garages, sheds and outbuildings where expensive bicycles have been kept.
They are also targeting bikes that have not been secured properly or that have been secured with weak locks.
Police officers are asking local residents to follow some simple steps to protect their bikes and reduce the chances of becoming a victim of crime:
Cyclists should remain extra vigilant and take additional security measures to protect their bike.
Always use a strong bicycle lock, even if it is just being left for a short time and, where possible, keep bikes indoors.
Bicycles should be chained to something secure such as a metal fence or lamp post.
