Wanted man arrested after tip-off

The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, will appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court this morning charged with escaping from lawful custody.

He is alleged to have absconded from Kirkham open prison last June.

Officers were told Morgan was at a home in Beechwood Grove, Bispham, at around 5.20pm yesterday, a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

Further enquiries led them to believe he was travelling in a blue Volkswagen down the M55 towards the A6.

The car was stopped while it was travelling north, close to Garstang, and Morgan was arrested.
