Charitable folk across the Fylde coast are being urged to face their fears by walking across ‘fire’ and ‘ice’.
Trinity Hospice is looking for brave fund-raisers to walk across hot coals and broken glass to support our massive Hospice Heroes appeal.
The event is being staged by UK Firewalk – specialists in fire and ‘ice’ walking – whose company director Scott Bell has twice held the world record for the greatest distance in fire walking.
The firm says it is a case of mind over matter, and will be putting on an hour-long briefing before the event, which is being held at Blackpool Football Club on June 26 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
Trinity’s fund-raising manager, Linzi Young, said: “We are looking for really brave Hospice Heroes to face their fears and take part in our first ever fire and ice walk.
“This is a really exciting fund-raising event.
“Several members of staff at Trinity have said they will be signing up and lots of us will be there to offer some moral support.”
Participants, who must be over 16, can choose from the two walks or they can do both on the night. Numbers are limited so places should be booked as far in advance as possible.
