Beth said: “It is fantastic to see so many children getting active and living a healthy lifestyle.

“It’s really important to find activities that children can enjoy and experience with their family and friends.”

Former Dancing on Ice champion Daniel has worked with fellow TV ice star and Olympian Karen Barber and Fylde-based business partners Anne and Ben Wade to open the new facility which is aimed at ages 4 to 104.

Daniel won the popular ITV show with both Beth and Hayley as well as soap star Gaynor Faye.

And Hayley, who was keen to try out the climbing walls along with partner and former Hollyoaks star Joe Tracini, added: “This is exactly what Blackpool needs and Dan’s worked so hard on it. I’m so proud of him. It’s fun for all the family and it keeps you fit too.”

Daniel said: “The reaction since we opened Clip ‘n Climb has been fantastic - we’re looking forward to a busy year ahead.”

Clip ‘n Climb was first introduced to the UK 16 years ago after being launched in New Zealand.
