Violent criminal dubbed 'Ginger Stuart' on the run after escaping from Kirkham prison

Stuart Barnes, also known as Ginger Stuart or Barnsey, was jailed in 2018 for five years, four months, for causing grievous bodily harm and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

The 38-year-old was reported to have absconded after he was absent from evening roll call at around 9pm on Thursday, October 8.

He is described as approximately 5ft, 6in tall, of medium build with ginger hair and blue/green eyes. He has a birth mark on his left arm and a scar on his right hand.

Barnes has links to Avon and Somerset, Wiltshire, Devon and Cornwall.
