Lara Jones, from Goosnargh, near Preston, was a 26-year-old teacher, teaching English to non-native speakers of all backgrounds from around the world.

Lara’s Foundation was established in her name, so the dedication and kindness she showed towards her students could continue, in spite of her death while travelling in Cuba, in March 2012.

The goal of Lara’s Foundation is to assist in increasing English Language capacity in low-income communities around the world.

The charity works with communities where such knowledge is essential to access higher education, enhance employment opportunities, and improve quality of life.

Rachael said: “The charity classes were a huge buzz for a good cause.

“Thanks to all who came and supported the event – some travelled from Newcastle, Doncaster and Liverpool to join in.

“We all really appreciated the energy.”
