More than 40 firefighters battled a major blaze at a shop in Blackpool this morning.
The fire broke out at the Pit Stop car parts premises in Bloomfield Road at 4.47am on Thursday.
Crews from across Lancashire were called to tackle the blaze, which has led to the partial collapse of the building.
Simon Bone, from Lancashire Fire and Rescue, said one man had to be rescued from one of two flats above the shop by firefighters after he could not get out. Another man managed to get himself out of his flat.
Neither are believed to have suffered injuries.
At the height of the blaze eight fire crews from across the Fylde and as far as Preston, were at the scene.
Part of Bloomfield Road around the scene remains sealed off and residents from several homes nearby also had to be evacuated.
Mr Bone said: “On arrival we were faced with a rapidly developing fire, spreading from round the back up into the flat above.”
Crews were still there at 9am, by which time the fire had been brought under control.
An aerial ladder platform was being used to dampen down the fire from above.
The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
