US Fracking film maker to appear at second date

Josh Fox, famous for his controversial anti-fracking film Gasland, is to show his new movie, How to Let Go of The World And Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change, in Blackpool on Friday October 14, which he describes is the third part of his Gasland trilogy.

Due to the level of interest he will also be appearing in Lytham, on the same night before the film showing, at the Station Tavern from 6pm to 8pm. There he will talk about fracking issues and his films.

One of the organisers, Lytham– based engineer Mike Hill, said tickets sales had been stronger than any other part of the country.

He said: “Josh is very much looking forward to coming to the only place in the UK to have been fracked and he’s looking forward to meet everybody that comes personally , answer all their questions and play his banjo (a la GASLAND) to boot.

“So it’s going to be a very alternative cinema screening.

“He told me he is very keen to start helping the people of the Fylde. That we are very much next in the firing line and that he so much wants to prevent happening to the general public, farming and tourism of the Fylde what happened in his home state of Pennsylvania.

“It is a film predominately about Climate change but it covers his involvement in fracking as well. He has real experience and a huge amount of knowledge on fracking.

Fox’s latest film moves on from the fears of global warming and environmental calamity to look at the qualities world wide such as courage, resilience, innovation, democracy and community, which are needed to survive.

The film will be shown at Blackpool Odeon from 9pm.
