An investigation has been launched into the death of a baby boy in Blackpool.
The two-month-old reportedly went into cardiac arrest at a property on Shannon Street, in the town centre, this morning.
He was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where he later died.
Police were called to the scene by paramedics at around 8.30am.
Detectives say they are in the early stages of their inquiries and it is too soon to say whether the death was suspicious.
Police said no arrests have been made in connection with the incident.
Det Insp Nick Connaughton , of Blackpool’s Public Protection Unit, said: “At this moment we are treating the sudden death of this baby boy as unexplained.
“I would like to stress that we are in the very early stages of our inquiries and we have not made any arrests.”
